Our Financial Independence
The best intentions in the world count for nothing if you're not free to make your own choices.
Why we're financially independent
At Loom, we are financially independent, so that our values can never be sacrificed by investors. Loom's share capital is split between the people who created Loom (Julia and Guillaume), the people who work here and the people who wear it: since 2019, 600 of our customers have owned a part of our company.
It's our financial independence that guarantees our ethics. We can grow at our own pace without joining an absurd race for growth, without ever putting the quality of our products at risk, without putting pressure on the factories that work for us, without selling you things you don't need.
We can be out of stock on a product for months if we don't think our prototypes are up to standard. We can decide not to run discounts, and to stop pushing people to buy. We can speak our mind without worrying about scaring off anyone who might want to buy the company. We can decide to manufacture in France even if it costs 10 times more than in Asia (and it does). In short, we can make decisions that don't make money, because we think they're the right ones.
