B) What information is collected?

As part of your registration and use of the services offered by Loom, we collect information so that we can provide you with the best possible experience. We collect personal data directly from you when you use our website (to create an account or place an order) or when you subscribe to our newsletter.

Loom collects the following categories of data, as applicable:

(i) Identification information: mailing address, email address, phone number, last name, first name:

(ii) Order information: payment method, transaction history, etc.

(iii) Usage data: subscribed services, products used, connection methods, etc.;

(iv) Customer relationship tracking data: requests for assistance, after-sales service, and newsletter subscriptions; correspondence with the customer, etc.;

(v) Data related to your participation in surveys, job applications, or other activities that may require information about you.

When we ask you to enter your personal information to grant you access to one of the features or services on our website, please note that certain fields will be marked as required, as this is information we need to provide the service in question or to allow you to access that feature. C) How is this data collected?

Information is collected automatically when you use the Loom website, when you sign up for our newsletter, or when you participate in one of our surveys.

Loom collects the following categories of data:

(i) Registration information: When you register, we may collect the information listed above in section B);

(ii) Geolocation data: When you use the Loom website, we may collect information about your approximate or precise location, as determined by data such as your IP address or your mobile device’s GPS.

(iii) Cookies and Similar Technologies: When you use the Loom website, in order to provide an optimal browsing experience for all users, we automatically collect connection and device data, even if you have not created a Loom Account. The publisher may place a cookie on the user’s computer. Please note that all of this data is statistical in nature and does not identify any specific individual. This cookie is used to store information related to navigation on the site (date, pages, times), as well as any data entered by users during their visit (searches, login, email, password). These cookies are intended to be stored on the user’s computer for a variable period of time not exceeding 13 months and may be read and used by the publisher during a subsequent visit by the user to this site. Users have the option to block, modify the retention period, or delete this cookie via their browser’s settings (typically under “Tools” or “Options” / “Privacy” or “Confidentiality”). In such cases, the user’s experience on this site will not be optimized. D) How is this data used?

Loom strives to collect as little data as possible and to limit its use.

Loom uses, stores, and processes the aforementioned data to manage your registration as a user of our website, to implement and fulfill the purchase or service agreement, to facilitate the use of our customer service, for marketing purposes (newsletter), and to improve our customer interfaces in order to:

The use of data and information as described above is permitted under applicable data protection regulations. In most cases, this processing of personal data for marketing purposes is based on the legitimate interest of Loom SAS. 

E) How is this data shared?

For the purposes of managing and providing the services offered by Loom, the data processed—which you have requested or authorized—may be transferred to subcontractors, partners, and trusted third parties (logistics companies, financial institutions, and email delivery platforms).

As a general rule, your data is stored in France and remains with Loom and its hosting provider, Shopify. None of the data processed and collected by Loom is transferred to a third country outside the European Union or to a country that does not provide a level of protection deemed adequate by the European Commission.

Upon request, they may also be transferred to individuals and authorities whose right to access personal data is recognized by law, regulations, or provisions issued by authorities empowered by law.

F) How is this data stored, secured, and deleted?

Loom makes every effort to protect your personal data and thereby minimize the risk of its loss, damage, or misuse. Data is processed electronically and/or manually and, in any case, in a manner that ensures its security, protection, and confidentiality in accordance with its level of sensitivity, through administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to prevent loss, theft, unauthorized use, disclosure, or alteration. In particular, the data is properly backed up and protected with restricted access for as long as liability may arise from the processing, in accordance with the regulations in effect at any given time.

Despite the security measures taken, Loom cannot guarantee the delivery or integrity of data transmitted to third parties through the website and disclaims all liability in this regard.

In particular, you acknowledge the limitations and risks inherent in using the Internet and agree from the outset to take all necessary precautions to maintain the confidentiality of your personal data (including any account passwords required to use the services offered by Loom).

Loom retains your data only for as long as necessary to provide you with optimal services and products and to fulfill essential business needs. Accordingly, data related to (i) your customer account (user account on our website or in-store) will be retained for as long as you remain a registered user/customer (that is, until you decide to delete your account), (ii) data related to the implementation, application, and fulfillment of the purchase agreement will be retained for as long as necessary to manage the purchase, including any returns, warranties, complaints, or claims associated with the specific product purchase; and (iii) data related to marketing activities will be retained until you unsubscribe or cancel your newsletter subscription. In certain cases, we will only process the data until you decide otherwise, such as in the case of payment (card) data that you have asked us to retain for potential future purchases.

At your request, Loom will delete and anonymize your data so that you can no longer be identified, unless the law authorizes or requires us to retain certain personal data, particularly in the following cases:

(i) An outstanding payment, a claim, or an unresolved dispute: the data will be retained until the issue is resolved;

(ii) Legal, tax, audit, and accounting obligations: Data will be retained for the period required by applicable law;

(iii) Legitimate business interests: fraud or the security of our Customers.

G) Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was updated on October 13, 2020.

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time in order to provide up-to-date information on how we collect and process data.
