Our mission -
Not pushing you to buy more

In a world where overproduction and overconsumption put our future at risk, brands have a responsibility not to push you into buying things you don’t need. Here’s how we go about it at Loom.

No ads

Not on TV, not on Facebook, not on the metro. No affiliate deals, no free products sent to journalists. In short: we never pay to get you to buy our products. The only thing that gets people talking about Loom is word of mouth.

No sales, no discounts, ever

Our prices are the same all year round. Today, one garment in two is sold in a sale or at a discount. Crossed-out prices no longer serve their original purpose, which was to clear old stock: they have simply become a way to get you to buy more.

Generations, not collections

Some fast fashion brands change their collection almost every week to keep the urge to buy alive. At Loom, instead of putting our energy into developing the next trendy item, we prefer to improve the clothes we already make, so that each “generation” is better than the last.

The customer isn’t always right

We really do try to make you happy, but not at any cost: some things do too much damage to the planet or to people. Delivering your order within 24 hours, for example, means running half-empty trucks and putting pressure on the people who deliver them. That is “marginal convenience”, and we would rather do without it.

No more dark patterns

It has become the norm in retail: playing on our psychological weaknesses to get us to buy more — prices ending in 9.99, limited quantities, “buy one, get one free”… At Loom, we’ve decided never to use these “dark patterns” again.

No one owns us.

We can afford to do all this because Loom is an independent company, with no one pushing us to grow.
