Our Care Tips
Even if you buy the most durable clothes in the world, they won't last very long if you don't wash them properly.
Here are our tips for washing properly without damaging anything.
First, wash less
Washing wears out clothes. Friction, hot water, detergent, fabric softener, and the spin cycle—all of these put a lot of stress on your clothes, much more than when you’re wearing them (unless your job involves crawling over broken glass). With every wash, your clothes inevitably come out a little more worn.
Our main advice, therefore, is to wash less often. For example, clothes that don’t come into contact with areas where you sweat (sweaters, sweatshirts, overshirts, jeans, etc.) don’t need to be washed very often: between wears, air them out (by hanging them on hangers or over chair backs): most of the time, that will be enough to remove any odors. There’s also no need to run a load of laundry with the Loom clothes you’ve just bought: they’ve already been pre-washed in our factories.
Next, follow our advice
Right after we receive your order, we'll send you an email with our care instructions. And if you have any questions, they're also posted on our website and (in part) on the labels of our clothing.
And to take it a step further
At Loom, we don’t just take all those so-called “magical” cleaning tips at face value (even if we’ve seen them on 5-Minute Crafts). We prefer to test them out first, so we can recommend the ones that really work. To discover our best cleaning and repair methods, click on the questions below:
