Our care tips
Even if you buy the most durable clothes in the world, they won't last very long if you don't wash them properly.
Here are our tips for washing well without ruining everything.
First, wash less
Washing means wearing out. The friction, the hot water, the detergent, the fabric softener, the spinning — that's a lot of stress for your clothes, far more than when you wear them (unless your job involves crawling across broken glass). After every wash, your clothes inevitably come out a little more worn.
So our main piece of advice is to wash less. For instance, the clothes that aren't in contact with sweat zones (sweaters, sweatshirts, overshirts, jeans, etc.) don't need to be washed very often: between two wears, air them out (by hanging them on hangers or over the back of a chair). Most of the time, that's enough to get rid of any smells. And there's no need to run a wash with the Loom clothes you've just bought either: they've already been pre-washed in our factories.
Next, follow our advice
Just after receiving your order, we'll send you an email with our care tips. And if you're ever unsure, they're also displayed on our website and (partly) on the label of our clothing.
And to go one step further
At Loom, we don't take every supposedly magical care tip at face value (even if we saw it on 5-Minute Crafts). We prefer to test them first, so we can recommend the ones that actually work. To discover our best care and repair methods, click on the questions below:
