The best intentions in the world are worthless if you aren't free to make your own choices.
Why are we financially independent?
At Loom, to make sure our values will never be sacrificed by investors, we are financially independent. Loom's capital is shared between the people who created Loom (Julia and Guillaume), those who work here and those who wear our clothes: since 2019, 600 of our customers own a part of our company.
It's our financial independence that guarantees our ethics. We can grow at our own pace without joining an absurd race for growth, without ever jeopardising the quality of our products, without putting pressure on the factories that work for us, without selling you things you don't need.
We can be out of stock on a product for several months if we think our prototypes aren't up to standard. We can decide not to run sales and to stop pushing people to buy more. We can speak our mind without fear of scaring off a potential buyer. We can decide to produce in France even if it's 10 times more expensive than in Asia (and it is). In short, we can make decisions that don't bring in money, because we think they're the right ones.
